WORKSHOP TOOLS
DPF Reset (Volkswagen)
n A “status” screen displays while the routine is in process.
n A “conrmation” screen displays when the routine is completed.
NOTE: If the routine does not complete successfully, an “advisory” message
displays. Tap Exit to return to the DPF Reset menu.
3. Tap End to return to the Workshop Tools screen.
DPF RESET (
Volkswagen)
1. Tap DPF Reset in the Workshop Tools.
n A “One moment please…” message displays, followed by the DPF Reset menu.
2. Select the desired option.
n A series of “informational/instructional” screens display. Prepare the vehicle for test as directed.
NOTE: If the selected function is not supported by the vehicle under test, an
“advisory” message may display. Tap End to return to the DPF Reset menu.
3. Tap Next, Continue, or Start, as appropriate, to continue.
n One or more “status” screens may display while the routine is in process.
n A “conrmation” or “results” screen displays when the routine is completed.
NOTE: If the routine does not complete successfully, an “advisory” message may
display. Tap End to return to the DPF Reset menu.
4. Tap End to return to the DPF Reset menu, then tap Back to return to the Workshop Tools screen.
BATTERY / ALTERNATOR TEST
TO PERFORM A CHARGING SYSTEM (ALTERNATOR) CHECK:
1. Tap Battery / Alternator Test on the Workshop Tools screen.
n The Battery / Alternator Test menu displays.
2. Tap Alternator Test.
n An “instructional” message shows.
3. Start and warm the engine to normal operating temperature. Turn on the headlights. Tap Continue to proceed.
n An “instructional” message shows.
4. Press the accelerator pedal to raise engine speed to 2000 RPM and maintain the engine speed.
n When engine speed is within the required range, the alternator test begins. A progress screen
shows.
