OBD2 DIAGNOSTICS
Additional Testing Utilities
Erase DTCs from the vehicle’s computer memory as follows:
1. Perform the AutoLink Connection steps. [See page 10]
n If the tablet is already connected and linked to the vehicle’s computer, proceed directly to Step
2.
n Ensure that the ignition is in the Key ON, Engine OFF position.
2. Tap the Erase DTCs button at the top of the OBD2 Diagnostic results page.
n Ensure that the vehicle is stopped and place the transmission in Park or Neutral.
n If you want to proceed, tap Erase DTCs to continue.
n If you do not want to proceed, choose Cancel to exit the erase procedure.
3. By selecting to Erase DTCs, a “One moment please…” progress dialog displays during the erase process.
n If the erase was successful, a conrmation message shows. After 3 seconds, the tablet
automatically re-scans the vehicle to conrm DTC deletion.
4. If the erase was not successful, an advisory dialog displays indicating the erase request was sent to the vehicle’s
computer. After 3 seconds, the tablet automatically re-links to the vehicle’s computer.
NOTE: If the erase was not successful and a ECU error code $22 is present, an
advisory message displays. Start the engine and maintain vehicle speed at 0. Tap
Erase DTCs to try again.
OBD MODE TEST
The OBD Mode Test are accessed from the OBD2 Diagnostic results page. [See page 12]
1. Tap the OBD Mode Test button.
2. The OBD Mode Test screen is displayed with the following selections:
n I/M Readiness Status - $01, $41 – Lets you view
the Drive Cycle Procedures for incomplete monitors
supported by the vehicle.
n O2 Sensor Monitor - $05 – Retrieves and displays
O2 sensor monitor test results from your vehicle’s
on-board computer.
n OBD Monitor Test - $06 – Retrieves test results
for emission-related powertrain components and
systems that are not continuously monitored.
n Request Control On-Board System - $08 – Enable the external test equipment to control the
operation of an on-board system, test, or component.
I/M Readiness Status - $01, $41
A Drive Cycle for a monitor requires that the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required “Enabling Criteria”
for the monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met. You can use the tablet to view the Drive Cycle
