Before a Self-Clean Cycle

FIREHAZARD:Wipe grease and heavy soil from
the oven bottom before self-cleaning.Failure to
do so may result in an oven fire.
We recommend ventingyour kitchenwith an
openwindow or usinga ventilation fan or hood
duringthe first self-cleancycle.
Removeany broilerpan, broilergrid, probe,all
cookware and any aluminum foil from the oven.
NOTE:
Ifyour oven is equippedwith shiny,silver-
colored oven racks,we recommend you
removethem beforeyou beginthe self-clean
cycle.Theymay remain inthe oven duringthe
self-cleancycle,but they will darken,losetheir
lusterand become hardto slide.
Ifyour oven is equippedwith gray porcelain-
coated oven racks,they may beleft in the oven
during the self-cleancycle.
Soilon the front frame of the range and outside
the gasket on the door will needto becleaned by
hand. Cleantheseareaswith hot water, soap-filled
steel-wool padsor cleanserssuch as SoftScrub_.
Rinsewell with cleanwater and dry.
Do not cleanthe gasket.Thefiberglassmaterialof
the oven door gasket cannotwithstand abrasion.
It is essentialfor the gasket to remain intact. Ifyou
notice it becomingworn or frayed,replace it.
Hake surethe oven light bulbcover isin place and
the oven light isoff.
IMPORTANT:Thehealth of somebirds is
extremelysensitiveto the fumes givenoff during
the self-cleaningcycleof any range.Hove birdsto
another well-ventilatedroom.
Thesurface unitsare automatically disabled
duringthe self-cleancycle.

How to Set the Oven for Self-Cleaning
Theovendoorsmustbe closedandallcontrolsset
correctlyfor the cycleto workproperly.
[] Touchthe SELFCLEANpad.
[] If a time other than the default time is
needed,usethe number pads and enter the
desiredcleantime.
Youcan change the clean time to any time
between3 hoursand 5 hours, dependingon how
dirtyyour oven is.
r_ Touchthe STARTpad.
Theoven door locksautomatically.The display
will show the clean time remaining.Itwill not
be possibleto open the oven door until the
temperature drops below the locktemperature
and LOCKED/DOOR_ goesoff in the control
display.
Theword LOCKED/DOOR_ will flash and a
beepwill sound ifyou setthe clean cycleand
forget to closethe oven door.
Tostop a clean cycle,touch the CLEAR/
OFFpad.When LOCKED/DOOR_ goesoff,
indicatingthe oven has cooledbelow the
lockingtemperature,you will be able to open
the door.
