3. Installation and Wiring
3.7 Installation Notes
Place the battery cabinet in a clean, stable environment. Avoid vibration, dust, humidity, ammable gases, liquids and
corrosives. Additional air lters may be required if the UPS will operate in a dusty environment. For more information
on air lters for the UPS, contact Tripplite.Eaton.com/support.
The environmental temperature around the UPS should be maintained in the range of 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C). If
the temperature exceeds this range, the rated load capacity should be reduced by 12% for 9°F (5°C). To help prevent
high temperatures in the room where the UPS is installed, extractor fans and/or cooling systems are recommended.
Do not operate the UPS in an environment over 122°F (50°C).
If the UPS is installed or dismantled in low temperatures, moisture condensation might occur. Do not install the UPS
unless all internal and external parts are fully dry. Otherwise, there is a danger of electric shock.
Batteries should be mounted in an environment where the temperature is within the required specications.
Temperature is a key factor in determining battery life and capacity. Battery temperature should be maintained
between 59°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C). Keep batteries away from heat sources, main air ventilation areas, etc.
CAUTION!
Typicalbatteryperformancedatareectsanoperatingtemperaturebetween59°Fto77°F(20°C
to25°C).OperatingtheUPSabovethisrangewillreducethebatterylife,whileoperatingtheUPS
below this range will reduce battery capacity.
If the UPS will not be installed immediately, it must be stored in a room without excessive heat or humidity.
CAUTION!
An unused battery must be recharged every 6 months. Temporarily connect the UPS to a suitable AC
supply mains and activate it for the time required to fully charge the batteries.
The highest altitude that the UPS may work normally with full load is 1000 meters. The load capacity should be
reduced when this UPS is installed in place whose altitude is higher than 1000 meters, shown as the following table:
(Load coecient equals max load in high altitude place divided by nominal power of the UPS)

The UPS should be kept in an area with good ventilation. Ventilation holes on the front and rear of the UPS should not
be blocked.
