You can release the mode dial
lock using the mode dial lock
release lever to easily operate
the mode dial without having to
press the mode dial lock button.
The selected capture mode is
displayed on the monitor.
6 Look through the viewfinder to view the subject.
When using a zoom lens, turn the zoom ring to the right or
left to change the angle of view.
7 Position the subject inside
the AF frame and press
0 halfway.
Autofocus is performed.
The focus indicator (P) appears
and you will hear a beep when the
subject comes into focus.

8 Press 0 fully.
The captured image is displayed on the monitor (Instant
Review).

You can preview the image on the monitor and check the

Review in [Instant Review] of the E4 menu. (p.109)
When you want to lock the exposure value (AE Lock) by
pressing 0 halfway, make settings in [Still Image] of
[AF/AE Lock Settings] in the E2 menu.
