The yellow ! indicator lamp is lit. The electric parking brake is malfunctioning.
To apply:
#
Switch off the ignition and switch it back on.
#
Apply the electric par king brake manually (→ page 153).
If it is not possible to apply the electric parking brake:
#
Visit a qualif ied specialist workshop.
#
Where necessary, also safeguard the parked vehicle against rolling away.
The yellow ! and the red F (USA only) or ! (Canada only) indicator lamps are lit. The electric parking
brake is malfunctioning.
To release:
#
Switch off the ignition and switch it back on.
#
Release the electric parking brake manually (→ page 153).
or
#
Release the electric parking brake automatically (→ page 152).
If it is still not possible to release the electric parking brake:
#
Do not continue driving under any circumstances. Consult a qualified specialist workshop.
