Push handle 1.
The red F (USA) or ! (Canada) indica‐
tor lamp appears in the instrument cluster.

The electric parking brake is only securely
applied if the indicator lamp is lit continu‐
ously.
Releasing
#
Switch on the ignition.

Pull handle 1.
The red F (USA) or ! (Canada) indica‐
tor lamp in the instrument cluster goes out.
Emergency braking
#
Press and hold handle 1.
When the vehicle has been braked to a
standstill, the electric parking brake is
applied. The red F (USA) or ! (Can‐
ada) indicator lamp appears in the instru‐
ment cluster.
Notes on parking the vehicle for an extended
period
If you leave the vehicle parked for longer than
four weeks, the disconnected battery may be
damaged by deep discharge.
If you leave the vehicle parked for longer than six
weeks, it may suffer disuse damage.

If the vehicle is not moved for a longer
period, the starter battery may discharge and
be damaged.

Connect a trickle charger to the socket
in the trunk.
