Change or set paper settings
To change paper settings from the printer control panel
1.
From the printer control panel, press the Home button ( ).
2. From the Home screen, select Setup and then press OK.
3. Select Printer Settings, and then pressOK.
4. Select Paper Settings, and then press OK.
5. Select the option for paper size or paper type, and then scroll down to select the size or type of the
paper loaded.
To turn on or o the feature to automatically detect paper size
1.
From the printer control panel, press the Home button ( ).
2. From the Home screen, select Setup and then press OK.
3. Select Printer Settings, and then press OK.
4. Select Preference, and then press OK.
5. Scroll down and select Automatic Paper Size Detection.
6. Select On or O.
Update the printer
By default, if the printer is connected to a network and Web Services has been enabled, the printer
automatically checks for updates.
To update the printer using the printer control panel
1.
On the printer control panel, press the Home button ( ) to display the Home screen.
2. Select Setup, Tools, and thenUpdate the Printer.
To select a function on a screen, use the arrow button or to select it, and then press the OK button.
To update the printer using the embedded web server
1. Open the embedded web server (EWS).
For more information, see Embedded web server.
2. Click the Tools tab.
3. In the Printer Updates section, click Firmware Updates, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
NOTE: If a printer update is available, the printer downloads and installs the update, and then restarts.
NOTE: If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the onscreen
instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the details, contact your network administrator or the
person who set up the network.
