Near Field Communication
This feature is used to read and exchange tags. When used in conjunction with Android Beam, your device
can be used to beam application content when NFC-capable devices are touched.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > NFC.
2. Verify the feature is active (indicated by ).
Android Beam
When Android Beam is activated, you can beam app content to another NFC-capable device by holding the
devices close together. You can beam browser pages, YouTube videos, contacts, and more.
1. From the NFC screen, tap Android Beam.
2. Tap the OFF / ON icon to turn Android Beam on.
3. Touch the back of your device with another NFC-capable device and the content is transferred.
S Beam
This feature (when activated via NFC) allows you to beam large files directly to another compatible device
that is in direct contact. These files can be larger, such as Videos, HD pictures, and other large files. You can
beam images and videos from your gallery, music files from your music player, and more.
1. From the NFC screen, verify the NFC feature is active.
2. Tap S Beam and make sure the feature is turned on.
3. If not already active, in a single motion touch and slide the S Beam slider to the right to turn it on.
4. Complete the transfer process between the two NFC-enabled devices by placing them back to back.
This feature can come in very handy to quickly share pictures between users with compatible S Beam
devices.

Tap and pay
Tap and pay allows you to select the default payment application you want to use for making on-phone
purchases.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > NFC > Tap and pay.
2. Select the app that you want as your default.
Nearby Devices
This option allows you to share your media files with nearby devices using DLNA and connected to the same
Wi-Fi.
1. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. For more information, refer to “Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network” on page 57.
2. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Nearby devices.
3. In a single motion touch and slide the Nearby devices slider to the right to turn it on. Once active,
Nearby devices appears at the top of the screen.
4. At the Nearby devices prompt, tap OK.
5. Tap Content to share, then check the media you would like to share. Tap OK.
6. Tap Allowed devices, then select the connected devices you would like to allow.
7. Tap Denied devices, then select the connected devices you would like to not allow.
8. Tap Download to, then select the destination of any downloaded (shared) content. Choose from USB
storage (Device) or SD card.
9. Tap Receive files from other phones, then select the actions you’ll take when you upload content from
other devices. Choose from either Always accept, Always ask, or Always reject.
Printing
Allows you to select a printing service (ex: Samsung Print Service), and then connect to a compatible
wireless printer.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Printing.
2. Select either HP Print Service Plugin or Samsung Print Service Plugin.
3. In a single motion touch and slide the slider to the right to turn it on. Your device begins to search for
compatible communicating printers.
4. Select from a list of currently available print services.
5. Follow the onscreen prompts to connect to a wirelessly compatible printer.
6. Tap Menu for additional options.
Screen Mirroring
With feature enabled, you can wirelessly mirror what is currently displayed on your device’s screen with an
external TV via devices such as the AllShare Cast Hub
®
.
Note: Screen mirroring can only be done with a compatible wireless TV or one enabled with the AllShare Cast
Hub.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Screen Mirroring.
2. In a single motion touch and slide the Screen Mirroring slider to the right to turn it on. The slider color
indicates the activation status.
3. Tap Scan to scan for available devices.
Note: This feature allows a connection between your device and the optional AllShare Cast Hub, via a shared
Wi-Fi Direct connection. The AllShare Cast Hub then allows the communicating TV to mirror what is being
shown on the device's display.
