Bring the chain saw close to the work-
piece while observing all safety instruc-
tions.
Make the cut.
Check the saw chain oil level at regular
intervals during work.
Due to the design, a battery operated chain
saw is suitable for tree felling works only to
a limited extend. If the stem dimension is
larger than the cutting length of the power
saw, felling is not recommended.
DANGER
Mortal danger on account of falling tree!
Tree felling work must only be performed
by trained persons. Observe with felling
cut:
No persons must stay in the felling ar-
ea.
No felling work in case of strong wind.
The tree can fall in an uncontrolled
manner.
Determine the fall direction based and
the growth of tree, terrain character (in-
clination) and atmospheric conditions.
Always drop the tree into a growth gap.
Never onto other trees.
Plan the fall direction and route of with-
drawal

Felling a tree
Clear the route of withdrawal from ob-
stacles.
Clear the cutting area on the stem from
branches or obstacles.

The kerf determines the fall direction:
Saw the kerf perpendicular to the fall di-
rection.
Make the kerf close to the ground.
Do not cut more than 1/4 of the stem for
the kerf.
Make the horizontal cut (bottom cut)
first, then the diagonal cut (upper cut).
