There is a high risk of injury when work-
ing with chain saws, as you are working
with high chain speeds and very sharp
sawteeth. Hence, special safety meas-
ures and rules of conduct must be ob-
served when working with chain saws.
In addition to these safety instructions, the
country-related safety and training rules
(e.g. of authorities, occupational insurance
associations or social security benefits of-
fices) must be observed.
The use of chain saws can be limited in
time by local regulations (time of day or
year). Observe the local regulations.
The user is responsible for the safe use
of the chain saw, especially with re-
spect to personal health and other per-
sons.
Operate chain saws only in a rested
and healthy condition. The chain saw
must not be operated under the influ-
ence of medication or drugs that limit
the capacity of reaction.
The user must be in the physical condi-
tion to react to possibly occurring reac-
tion effects (kick-back, drawing or re-
coil) and to soften them by physical
strength.
Take breaks in order to prevent fatigue.
The device must not be operated by mi-
nors.
Keep children and other individuals out
of the working area during use.
Persons with limited sensory and cogni-
tive abilities must not use the chain
saw.
Increased risk of accident in bad weath-
er conditions. Only use chain saw if
safe working conditions are guaran-
teed.
DANGER
Long hours of using the appliance can
cause circulation problems in the hands on
account of vibrations.
It is not possible to specify a generally valid
operation time, since this depends on sev-
eral factors:
Proneness to blood circulation deficien-
cies (cold, numb fingers).
Low ambient temperature. Wear warm
gloves to protect hands.
A firm grip impedes blood circulation.
Continuous operation is worse than an
operation interrupted by pauses.
In case of regular, long-term operation of
the device and in case of repeated occur-
rence of the symptoms (e.g. cold, numb fin-
gers) please consult a physician.
Always hold the chain saw with both
hands, grasp firmly.
Left hand on the front, right hand on the
rear handle.
Only put the chain saw aside when the
saw chain is blocked.
Always remove the battery pack during
work breaks and for maintenance / care
tasks.
