Operating components not reached by the
remote controller signals (IR IN/OUT)
The following equipment (sold separately) is essential for
operation:
• Onkyo's Multi-Room System kits (IR Remote Controller
Extension Syslem), or
• Multiroom A/V distribution and control systems from Niles _
and Xantech _'_to name a few
Make connection as shown below. Do not plug the equipment into
the power source until the connection is complete.

If the remote controller signal does not reach the
TX-DS797 remote sensor
If the TX=DS797 is located inside a cabinet or olher enclosure where
the infrared rays from the remo_e controller cannot enter, then
operation with the remote controller will no1 be possible. In such a
case, it will be necessary to install a remo_e sensor at a location
outside of the cabinet for the infrared rays from the controller Io
reach.
Wilh this connection, select "Main" for the Hardware Setup --_ IR IN
Setup --_ Position setting in the Setup menu (see page 28).

If the remote controller signal does not reach
other components
In this situation, you will need to use a commercially available IR
emitter. Connect the mini plug of the IR emitter to the IR OUT
terminal on the TX=DS797 and then place the IR emitter on the
remote sensor of the component or facing it. When the IR emitter is
connected, only the signal input Io Ihe IR IN terminal is output to the
IR OUT terminal The signal input from the remole sensor on the
front of the TX-DS797 will not be oulput to the IR OUT terminal.

The IR IN input allows you to control the TX=DS797 from the
remole zone (Zone 2) with the remote controller even though the
remote zone is physically separated. The diagram below shows how
to make the proper connections for the remote zone.
With this connection, select "Zone 2" for the Hardware Setup --_ IR
IN Setup --_ Position setting in the Setup menu (see page 28).
