Front Suspension Adjustments
(cont’d)
Adjustments for Competition 121
22. Release the PSF air pressure.
Remove the fork cap (page 116).
Slide the outer tube (9) down onto the axle
holder slowly to avoid damaging the dust seal.
Compress the fork damper fully by sliding
down the dumper rod (10) until fully seated.
23. Pour the recommended fork oil to the upper
surface of the slider (16).
Recommended Oil:
KYB 01M
24. Adjust the oil level by removing the oil with an
after market syringe (17).
After the oil level (18) stabilizes, measure the
oil level from the top of the outer tube (9) with
the outer tube and fork damper rod fully on
pressed.
Fork Oil level:
Be sure the oil level is the same in both fork legs.
Always use the after market syringe while
adjusting the oil level. If it isn't used, air may get
into the fork.
If a syringe is not available, first set the oil level
somewhat lower than the normal level, then add
small amounts of oil until the correct level is
obtained, measuring the level each time oil is
added.
