Front Suspension Adjustments
Adjustments for Competition 111
Front Suspension Adjustments
The front suspension can be adjusted for the rider’s
weight and riding conditions by using one or more
of the following methods:
Compression damping — Turning the high
speed compression damping adjuster (1) and
low speed compression damping adjuster (2)
adjust how quickly the fork compresses.
Rebound damping — Turning the high speed
rebound damping adjuster (3) and low speed
rebound damping adjuster (4) adjust how
quickly the fork extends.
•Fork spring — Adjusting the PSF air pressure
and oil capacity adjusts the spring rate from
soft to stiff.
Compression Damping
Compression damping may be adjusted in two
stages with separate adjusters.
The high speed damping adjuster (1) is effective
when damping adjustment is desired for high
speed operation. The low speed damping adjuster
(2) should be used when damping adjustment is
desired at relatively low speeds.
Both the high and low speed compression
damping can be increased by turning the
appropriate adjuster clockwise.
Adjust the high and low speed compression
damping adjuster in one-click increments.
A
High Speed Damping:
The high speed damping can be adjusted by
turning the screw (silver) of the compression
damping adjuster.
The high speed compression damping adjuster has
40 positions or more.
To adjust to the standard position:
1. Turn the adjuster clockwise until it will no
longer turn. This is the full hard setting.
2. Turn the adjuster counterclockwise 20 clicks.
Low Speed Damping:
The low speed damping can be adjusted by turning
the screw (blue) of the compression damping
adjuster.
The low speed compression damping adjuster has
40 positions or more.
To adjust to the standard position:
1. Turn the adjuster clockwise until it will no
longer turn. This is the full hard setting.
2. Turn the adjuster counterclockwise 22 clicks.
