CAUTION
. Except for the center seating
position, remove the head re-
straint when mounting a child
restraint system. Otherwise, it
might be possible that the tether
anchorage cannot be fastened
tightly.
. Store the head restraint that has
been removed in the cargo area.
Do not place the head restraint in
the passenger compartment to
prevent it from being thrown
around in the passenger com-
partment in a sudden stop or a
sharp turn.
. For the center seating position,
raise the center head restraint to
the extended position when
mounting a child restraint sys-
tem. Otherwise, it will be impos-
sible to use the seatbelt guide
that is attached to the head
restraint correctly.
The seatbelt guide is essential for
routing the belt webbing at the
center seating position. For in-
formation about using the seat-
belt guide, refer to “Rear center
seatbelt” �P46.
1. Attach the tether hook to the appro-
priate top tether anchorage.
For the center seating position,
route the tether strap under the head
restraint as illustrated below.

2. Tighten the top tether strap securely.
