COMBINATION LAP AND SHOULDER BELT
RESTRAINT SYSTEM USE AND
MAINTENANCE
This vehicle is shipped with a combination lap and
shoulder belt restraint system for each occupant
location. The combination lap and shoulder belt
restraint system must be installed in the kart
according to the Assembly Instructions provided with
this kart.
The proper use of the combination lap and shoulder
belt restraint system can reduce the chance of and/or
severity of injury in an accident. The combination lap
and shoulder belt restraint system must be worn by
each occupant while the kart is being operated.
_t_ WARNING:The number of occupants must
never exceed the number of restraint systems in
the kart. Never use a single belt for more than
one person. Failure to follow these warnings
could increase the risk and!or severity of injury in
an accident.
To properly fasten and adjust the combination lap
and shoulder belt restraint system (see figure below):
1. Adjust the seat location to the position that allows
full operation of the break and throttle pedals, and
steering wheel by the operator.
2 Find the long strap of the restraintsystem (1A
and 1B) and pull it across the shoulder, chest
and lap inserting the metal tongue (2), on the
strap, into the buckle (3) until it is securely
latched. To do this may require the adjustment of
the shoulder portion of the strap (1A) to its
maximum length and unwinding of the webbing in
the web winder (4).To adjust the shoulder portion
of the strap (1A) to the maximum length, lift up on
the metal tab (SA) on the adjuster (5) and pull
down on the strap (1A).
3. In two seat karts, follow the above instructions
and use the buckle closest to the hip of the
occupant when fastening the restraint system.
4. Adjust the lap part of the belt (1B) by pulling up
on the shoulder part of the belt (1A) until the lap
part of the belt fits snugly and as low as possible
around the hips.
