TROUBLESHOOTING
Most cooking problems often are caused by little things you can find and fix without tools of any
kind. Check the lists below and on the next page before calling for assistance or service.
Cooling fan runs during
BAKE, BROIL, or
CLEAN
PROBLEM CAUSE/SOLUTION
Nothing works • The range is not plugged into a properly grounded live outlet with the proper
voltage. (See Installation Instructions.)
• You have blown a household fuse or tripped a circuit breaker.
• The control knob is not set correctly. Push in the control knobs before
turning them.
The oven does not • You have not set the electronic control correctly. Refer to setting the
work electronic oven control section. (See pages 10-22.)
The control knob(s) will • You are not pushing in before turning.
not turn
The Self-Cleaning cycle • You have programmed a delayed start time.
will not operate • The cooling fan is not running. If fan is running, you can hear it. Call a

service technician to repair.
• It is normal for the fan to automatically run while the oven is in use to cool
the electronic control.
PROBLEM CAUSE/SOLUTION
Burner fails to light • The unit is not plugged in or wired into a live circuit or circuit with proper
voltage. (See installation instructions.)
• A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped.
• The burner ports are clogged. Clean with a straight pin. (See page 30.)
Burner flames are • The burner ports may be clogged. Clean with a straight pin. (See page 30.)
uneven If this fails, call for service.
Burner flames lift off • The air/gas mixture is incorrect. (See "Adjusting height of burner flame,"
ports, are yellow, or are page 30-31 .) If this does not work, call service technician to adjust mixture.
noisy when turned off
Burner makes popping • The burner is wet from washing.
noises when on
Burners spark • It is normal for all four burners to spark when:
-- A burner has been turned on, and the switch is in the LITE position.
• Continuous sparking may be caused when:
-- There is a faulty spark module or spark switch. Contact a service
technician to replace module.
