Park assist has the following 6 parking types:
Reverse parallel parking.
R
everse angle parking.
Forward angle parking.
Reverse parallel parking without driving
past first: “Help me”.
Forward parking in a parking bay without
driving past first.
Reverse parking in a parking bay without
driving past first.
Selecting a parking type after passing in
front of the space
After activating the Park Assist system and after
detecting a parking space, the display on the
instrument panel proposes a parking type. The
Park Assist system selects the parking type au-
tomatically. The selected type is shown on the
instrument panel display ›››Fig.151 and on the
Infotainment System screen.

The necessary conditions to park with Park
Assist have to be met ›››page217.

button in the infotainment system,

When the system is switched on, the symbol
on the inf
otainment system display is highligh-
ted
. Additionally, the selected parking type is
sho
wn on the instrument panel display. You can
change the type of parking on the infotainment
system display.

If there are more spaces available, another
space can be selected by clicking on it on the
infotainment system display.
●
Follow the instructions displayed on the in-
strument panel while paying attention to trac
and drive the vehicle past the parking space.
Reverse parallel parking without driving

With this t
ype of parking

so that the system completes the parking that
has alr
eady been started. The system will only
switch on if sucient progress has been made
with the manoeuvre (the side sensor must be
able to detect the reference vehicle). If it is im-
possible to successfully complete the manoeu-
vre that has been started, the system itself will
drive out of the parking space before starting
parking in a similar way to type
.
