Machine actions Causes Solutions
The machine does not turn on. The machine is not connected to the electric net-
work.
Connect the machine to the electric network.
The power button is set to "0". Check that the power button is set to "I".
The drip tray gets  lled although no
water is drained.
Water is sometimes drained automatically by the
machine into the drip tray to manage circuit rinsing
and ensure optimum machine performance.
This is a normal behaviour of the machine.
Co ee is not hot enough. The cups/mugs are cold. Preheat the cups/mugs with hot water or use the hot wa-
ter dispensing spout.
The beverage temperature in the programming
menu is set on Low.
Make sure that the temperature in the programming
menu is set on Normal or High.
You added cold milk to the co ee. Cold milk lowers the temperature of the  nal product. Pre-
heat milk before adding it to the beverage.
No hot water is dispensed. The steam/hot water dispensing spout is clogged
or dirty.
Clean the steam/hot water dispensing spout (see the
"Cleaning and Maintenance" chapter).
Inspect the spout to check that the dispensing spout is
not clogged. Make a hole in the limescale using a pin or
a needle.
The machine does not ll the cup/mug. The machine has not been programmed. Access the beverage programming menu and adjust the
co ee length setting according to your personal taste for
each type of beverage.
Co ee does not have enough crema
(see note).
The blend is unsuitable, co ee is not freshly roasted
or the grind is too coarse.
Change co ee blend or adjust grinding as explained in the
Adjusting the Ceramic Co ee Grinder” chapter.
The co ee beans or the pre-ground co ee are too
old.
Make sure that you use fresh co ee beans or pre-ground
co ee.
Milk does not froth. The carafe is dirty or not inserted correctly. Ensure that the carafe is clean and has been correctly in-
serted.
The machine takes a long time to warm
up or the amount of water dispensed
from the wand is too little.
The machine circuit is clogged by limescale. Descale the machine.
The brew group cannot be removed. The brew group is out of place. Turn on the machine. Close the service door. The brew
group automatically returns to the initial position.
The co ee grounds drawer is inserted. Remove the co ee grounds drawer before removing the
brew group.
The brew group cannot be inserted. The brew group is not in the o position. Make sure that the brew group is in the o position. The
arrows must face each other. To this purpose, see the
“Monthly” section of the “Brew Group Cleaning” chapter.
The gear is not in the initial position. Insert the drip tray and the co ee grounds drawer and
close the service door. Turn on the machine. The gear au-
tomatically returns to the initial position. You can now
insert the brew group.
