Connecting the water supply
The water in the dishwasher is NOT safe to drink!
The dishwasher must be connected to the water supply in
accordance with lo
cal regulations.
The water used must at least comply with European regulations for
dri
nking water quality. If the water supply has a high iron content,
there is a danger of corrosion occurring on items being cleaned in
the dishwasher, as well as the appliance itself. If the chloride
content of the water exceeds 100 mg/l the risk of corrosion to items
being cleaned in the dishwasher will be further increased.
In certain regions (e.g. mountainous regions), the water
composition
may cause precipitates to form, requiring the use of
softened water for the dishwasher.
A backflow preventer is not required; the dishwasher corresponds
wi
th the valid European standards for the protection of drinking
water.
The water pressure (flow pressure) must amount to at least 29
p
si
/200 kPa overpressure. At a water pressure (flow pressure)
below 29 psi / 200 kPa, the water intake time extends automatically.
The maximum permissible static pressure amounts to 145 psi /
1000 kPa (overpressure). If the water pressure does not lie in the
29-145 psi / 200-1000 kPa range, ask Miele how to proceed.
The dishwasher is supplied as standard for connection to cold
wa
ter (blue-coded hose) and hot water up to 149°F (65°C) (red-
coded hose). Connect the inlet hoses to the cold and hot water
supplies.
If there is no hot water supply, the intake hose with the red
marking
must also be connected to the cold water supply.
A stopcock valve with a 3/4" male thread must be provided on site.
It sho
uld be easily accessible so that the water supply can be
turned off when the appliance is not in use.
The intake hose is an approx. 67" (1.7 m) long pressure hose DN 10
with a 3/4 inch screw connection. For the extension, a 59" (1.5) m
long, flexible metal hose (test pressure 2030 psi (140 bar)) is
available. The dirt filter in the screw connection may not be
removed.
Install the coarse filter (supplied in accessory pack) between the
stopcock valve and the inle
t hose
(see Cleaning and care, Water inlet").
