Default Station Tuning
The default Station Tuning Mode
for the MAC7200 is Manual.
Manual Tuning is accomplished
by using either the Front Panel
TUNING Control or the Upp
or Downq Directional Push-
buttons on the Remote Control.
Refer to figures 70 and 108.
Seek Tuning Type
The MAC7200 second form of
Tuning Types is Seek Tuning.
Seek Tuning automatically finds
the next available Radio Sta-
tion. To change from Manual
Tuning to Seek Tuning activate
the TRIM Mode using the Front
Panel Controls or the Remote
Control. Select TRIM Mode
“TUNER CONTROL, Manual”
and then select “TUNER CON-
TROL, Seek. Refer to figures
105 and 109.
There are three ways to use Seek
Tuning. The first way is to use
the Front Panel TUNING Con-
trol, by momentarily rotating it a
few degrees clockwise or coun-
ter-clockwise. The second way
is to use the Upp or Downq

Passthru
When the MAC7200 is connected together with a Mc-
Intosh Multichannel A/V Control Center or Surround
Decoder and has the PASSTHRU Mode activated, it
will automatically turn-on when the A/V Processor
or Surround Decoder is turned On. It will indicate
on the Front Panel Display “PASSTHRU”. Refer to
figure 101.

Push-buttons are active when in the Passthru Mode.
The other Front Panel Controls and Push-buttons are
deactivated as long as the Passthru Mode is active.
Optical and Coaxial Digital Inputs
When a Digital Input (Optical or Coaxial Connection)
on the MAC7200 is selected, the Front Panel Display
will indicate the sample rate when a signal is present
48kHz”. Refer to figure 102.
During the time there is no Digital Signal present on
the selected input the display will indicate “______”.

Operating the FM and AM Tuner
The MAC7200 Tuner provides the ability to select and
listen to AM and FM Radio Stations.
The Front Panel Controls labeled TUNING and
PRESET allow the selection of either FM or AM
Radio Stations. The Front Panel INPUT/TRIM Con-
trol, along with various push-buttons on the Remote
Control provide access to various Tuner Operational
Functions. Refer to figures 70 and 73.
The Front Panel Information Display indicates the
Station Preset, Radio Station Frequency, Stereo/Mono
(on FM Stations), Signal Strength, Tuning Method,
Station Text, FM Signal Information. Refer to figures
104 thru 107.
AM or FM Band Selection
Rotate the MAC7200 Front Panel INPUT Control to
select either TUNER FM or TUNER AM. Refer to
figure70. The AM, FM or BAND Push-buttons on the
Remote Control may also be used to select the desired
Broadcast Band. Refer to figure 108.
