Selecting Press + command dials displays the following
options:
F
AF lock only
Focus locks while the A AE-L/AF-L button is
pressed.
A
AF-ON
The A AE-L/AF-L button initiates autofocus. The
shutter-release button can not be used to focus.
r
FV lock
Press the A AE-L/AF-L button to lock flash value
(built-in flash and compatible optional flash
units only, 0 190, 435).
Press again to cancel FV
lock.
None Pressing the button has no effect.

Choose image
area
Keeping the A AE-L/AF-L button pressed, rotate a
command dial to choose an image area (0 114).

Choose non-CPU
lens number
Press the A AE-L/AF-L button and rotate a
command dial to choose a lens number
specified using the Non-CPU lens data option
(0 238).
None
No operation is performed when the command
dials are rotated while the A AE-L/AF-L button is
pressed.
