9 Maintain tools to ensure that they are in an adequate condition for safe use and optimum performance.
9 Ensure that a vehicle that has been raised by a jack is adequately supported. Use axle stands.
8 DO NOT attempt to start or move a vehicle whilst in gear and with timing devices fitted.
9 Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. DO NOT wear jewellery. Tie back long hair.
9 Account for all tools, parts and components being used. DO NOT leave these in or near the engine. Return tools to suitable storage after
use.
9 When not in use, store in a safe, dry childproof place.
9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.

9 When timing an engine, always prevent the engine from being
turned over. Use a notice and / or inhibit the engine.
WARNING! Incorrect or out of phase camshaft timing can result
in contact between the valve head and the piston crown. This will
cause damage to the engine.

Puretech engines. For use in EB2 belt-in-oil engines. Designed
to suit 1.2 Puretech engines tted in a range of PSA vehicles.

5. INSTRUCTIONS
5.0.1. The Sealey VS5296 comprises of a pair of balance shaft setting tools designed to suit all 1.2 Puretech EB2 Belt-in-Oil engines that are
tted to many Citroen, Peugeot, Toyota and Vauxhall/ Opel vehicles.
NOTE: There are different setting tools for the Euro 5 multi-point fuel injection and Euro 6 direct injection (GDi) engines.
The balance shaft on the Euro 5 engines have a parallel at located across the centreline of the shaft, Euro 6 engines have an offset
at located across the centreline of the shaft. (g.1)
5.0.2. With the engine in its timed position, select the correct Balance Shaft Setting Plate for the engine type and onto the balance shaft gear
aperture as shown. (g.2 and g.3)
