3.4.2 Secondary
The secondary coil has more coil turns than the primary coil, and can generate a high voltage of up to 40kv, which
can cause the spark plug to break down and ignite. There are several types: distributor ignition system,
distributorless ignition system/invalid spark, COP independent ignition, multi-COP integrated unit ignition.
Use the ATO oscilloscope to test the secondary ignition coil ( must use the secondary ignition probe) [the
voltage (KV), coil output voltage, and voltage (mv) can be tested separately to help users troubleshoot possible
faults]. The specific operations are as follows Figure 3-42:
