Selecting the AF Method
: Expand AF area (
Z
)
Focusing uses one AF point <
S
> and
points above, below, and to the left and
right <
w
>. E󰀨ective for moving subjects,
which are di󰀩cult to track with 1-point
AF.
Although Servo AF requires you to focus on a subject initially with an
AF point <
S
>, focusing is easier with this AF method than with Zone
AF.
: Expand AF area: Around
Focusing uses one AF point <
S
> and
surrounding points <
w
>.
Enables focusing over a wider area than
Z
AF point expansion. E󰀨ective for
moving subjects, which are di󰀩cult to
track with 1-point AF.
Servo AF operation is the same as for
Z
AF point expansion.
: Zone AF
Uses auto selection AF in Zone AF
frames to cover a larger area than AF
point expansion, which makes focusing
easier than with 1-point AF/AF point
expansion and also e󰀨ective for moving
subjects.
Generally focuses on the nearest subject. Note the camera attempts to
focus on faces of any people in the Zone AF frame.
AF points in focus are displayed with <
S
>.
