Configure Your Router With Amazon Alexa
If you own an Alexa-enabled device, you can use Alexa with your router.
Amazon Alexa Prerequisites
You must follow these high-level steps before setting up your router with Alexa.
To use your NETGEAR router with Alexa:
1. Make sure that your router supports the remote access feature using the genie app.
To check if your device supports this feature, visit netgear.com/support and search for
your router’s data sheet.
2. Download or update your router’s firmware.

3. Download the NETGEAR genie mobile app on your mobile device.
4. Create a NETGAR account using the genie mobile app.

5. Enable remote access using the genie mobile app.

6. Register your router using the genie mobile app.

Enable Your Router to Work With Amazon Alexa
There are two ways to enable your NETGEAR router to work with Amazon Alexa. You can
use the command "Alexa, enable the NETGEAR skill," or you can manually link the
NETGEAR skill to your Alexa app.
To enable the NETGEAR skill on the Alexa app:
1. Launch the Alexa app.
2. Tap the Menu button.
3. Tap Skills.
4. Enter NETGEAR in the search field.
The NETGEAR skill displays.
5. Tap the NETGEAR skill.
6. Tap the Link Account button.
