Lock Your MicroSD Card with SD Card Lock
If you lose your Phone, your microSD card can be ejected from your device and your personal data will
be at risk of disclosure. MicroSD card lock allows you to set a password to lock your microSD card.
When the locked microSD card is inserted into another device for the rst time, the password will be
required in order to use the storage space or access stored data.
l Some brands of microSD cards may not support SD card lock and may not lock and unlock
properly. It is recommended that you back up important data before locking the microSD card.
l Devices that do not support SD card lock may not be able to recognize the microSD card after
it is locked.
l Please remember your microSD card password. If you forget your password, you will be
required to erase the microSD card password and all data stored on the card.
Set your microSD card password: Open Settings. Go to Security & privacy > More > Set SD
card password and follow the onscreen instructions to set your microSD card password.
Modify or delete your SD card password: After setting your microSD card password, you can:
l Touch Change SD card password to set a new microSD card password and replace the old one.
l Touch Clear SD card password to delete your current microSD card password. Your microSD card
will not be password protected.
Enable microSD Card Encryption
Worried that others might see your photos and other personal data after you lend them your microSD
card? You can encrypt the les stored in your microSD card so that no one else who gets the card can
access your personal data. Encrypted les can only be viewed and used on your own device. Other
people can use the microSD card's storage space, but cannot view the content of any encrypted les.
l Do not restart your Phone or remove your microSD card during the encryption or decryption
process, as this may result in encryption or decryption failure, or even loss of data.
l Before encrypting your
les, make sure there is enough storage space in the microSD card, and
that neither the card nor its les have been damaged.
l microSD card encryption and decryption is available only to the device owner.
To encrypt a microSD card: Open Settings. Go to Security & privacy > More, then touch
Encrypt SD card and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the encryption process.
To decrypt a microSD card: Touch Decrypt SD card and follow the onscreen instructions to
complete the decryption process.
Formatting a microSD card will clear all the data stored inside it and decrypt the card.
