Note:If your tap water is at 3 or 4 in the water hard-
ness range, we recommend that you use softened
water.
Tip:If you use mineral water, set the water hardness
range to "very hard". If you use mineral water, you
must only use non-carbonated mineral water.

6.3 Cleaning the appliance before using it
for the first time
Clean the cooking compartment and accessories be-
fore using the appliance to prepare food for the first
time.
Requirement:Ensure that there is no leftover pack-
aging, accessories or other objects in the cooking
compartment.

Before heating, wipe the smooth surfaces in the
cooking compartment with a soft, damp cloth.

Close the appliance door.
3.
Ventilate the room while the appliance is heating.
4.
Use the function selector to set ⁠.
5.
Set to grill setting 3 using the rotary selector.

Press ⁠.
a The appliance starts heating.

Use to switch off the appliance after one
hour.

Turn the function selector to the zero setting.

Wait until the cooking compartment has cooled
down.

Clean the accessory thoroughly with soapy water

7  Basic operation
7.1 Switching on the appliance
Turn the function selector to switch on the appli-
ance.
a The appliance is ready to use.
a A default value appears in the display.
Note:You can set the childproof lock only when the
appliance is switched off. Some indicators also remain
visible on the display when the appliance has been
switched off.
Switch off your appliance when it is not being used. If
no settings are applied for an extended period, the ap-
pliance switches itself off automatically.
7.2 Switching off the appliance
Switch your appliance off when you are not using it. If
no settings are applied for an extended period, the ap-
pliance switches itself off automatically.
Turn the function selector to the off position.
a The appliance stops any ongoing functions.
a The display shows the time.
a Some indicators also remain visible on the display
when the appliance has been switched off.
Note:In the
→"Basic settings", Page25, you can set whether or
not the time should be displayed when the appliance is
switched off.
7.3 Setting an operating mode
Requirement:The appliance must be switched on.

Use the function selector to select the operating
mode.
If required, implement additional settings. To do this,
touch the appropriate field and use the rotary se-
lector to change the value.

a The appliance starts the operation.
7.4 Setting the cooking time

Set an operating mode.

Press until is highlighted.
3.
Use the rotary selector to set the required cooking
time.

Press ⁠.
a The appliance starts heating.

7.5 Pausing the operation

Press or open the appliance door.
a The appliance stops the operation.

7.6 Stopping operation
You can stop operation at any time.
Turn the function selector to the off position.
The fan may continue to run after operation has
been paused or stopped.
