Hand
strap
4. Insert the DVD-RAM disc cartridge into
the disc guide, so that the side of disc
you want to record faces the hand
strap (see p.35), with the disc shutter
towards the video lens.
The cartridge will stop once midway: Firmly push
it in until it stops.
Caution:
The DVD-RAM disc has an orientation: If it is forcibly inserted from the wrong
direction, the DVD camera/recorder or cartridge could be damaged.
5. Gently push the section indicated
"PUSH" on the cover of disc insertion
block (hand strap), to close the cover.
Caution:
The cover cannot be closed unless the disc is
correctly inserted. If the cover does not close,
remove the disc and reinsert it.
6. Push down the POWER switch to turn
the DVD camera/recorder on.
When the DVD camera/recorder is turned on,
an image will appear in the viewfinder and disc
recognition will start. After approximately 25 sec-
onds, the DVD camera/recorder will enter the
recording pause status.
Make sure of the remaining space on disc, re-
ferring to indicators "remaining recordable time/
number of recordable stills" described in "Infor-
mation Display during Recording", p. 60.
Cautions:
It will take more time than usual after the disc is inserted before recording
can begin in the following cases:
When the cover of disc insertion block is open
When the date changes (first recording of a day)
When the temperature changes at least 10 °C from the previous recording status
When a disc with scratches, dirt or fingerprints is inserted
(In case of movie)
