Problem solving guide

Problem Possible cause and remedy
The compressor runs
contin
uously.
This is not a fault. To save energy, the compressor
runs at a lower speed,
but for longer, when less
cooling is required.
The compressor is
switching
on more
frequently and for
longer periods.
The ventilation gaps in the housing unit have been
cover
ed or become too dusty.
Do not block the ventilation gaps.
Clean
the ventilation gaps on a regular basis.
The doors have been opened too frequently, or a
lar
ge amount of fresh food has been placed inside
and/or frozen at the same time.
Only open the door when necessary and for as
short a time as possible.
After a while the temperature will return to normal by
itself.
The door is not properly closed.
A thick layer of ice
may have formed in the freezer.
Close
the door.
After a while the temperature will return to normal by
itself.
If a thick layer of ice has formed, it will decrease the
coo
ling performance and increase the energy
consumption.
Defr
ost the appliance and clean it.
The room is too warm. The higher the room
t
emperature, the longer the compressor has to run.
See "I
nstallation advice - Location".
The appliance was not properly installed in the niche.
See "Installation - Building in the appliance".
