Freezing and storing food
35
Making ice cubes
Fil
l the ice cube tray three quarters
full of water and place it on the
bottom of one of the freezer drawers.
Once fr
ozen, use a blunt instrument,
for example a spoon handle, to
remove the ice tray from the freezer if
it is stuck.
Useful tip: The ice cubes can be easily
loosen
ed by holding the tray briefly
under running water.
Cooling drinks quickly
When cooling drinks quickly in the
fr
eezer, make sure bottles are not left
in for more than one hour; otherwise
they could burst, causing injury and
damage.
Cool pack
The cool pack prevents the temperature
in the fr
eezer rising too quickly in the
event of a power cut, thus extending
the time for which food can be stored
without power to the appliance.
Place
the cool pack in the top drawer
of the freezer section.
The cool pack will be at its most
effective aft
er it has been in the freezer
for approx. 24 hours.
In the event of a power cut:
Plac
e the cool pack directly on top of
the frozen food in the front of the top
drawer so that the food will be kept
cold for as long as possible.
Useful tip: When pla
cing fresh food in
the freezer, use the cool pack to
separate the fresh food from the food
which is already frozen so that the
frozen food does not begin to thaw.
Useful tip: The cool pack can also be
used in a cool bag t
o keep food or
drinks cool for a short period of time.
