BAGEL CHIPS
Yield: ~2 dozen chips
INGREDIENTS
½ cup olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Pinch cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons dried basil
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon paprika
3 bagels, assorted flavors
METHOD
1. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil,
kosher salt, cayenne pepper, dried basil,
garlic powder and paprika. Set aside.
2. Set one bagel on its edge on a cutting
board (hole perpendicular to the cutting
board) and, using a serrated knife, cut
the bagel vertically into

8 inch thick
slices. Brush with the oil mixture and set
aside. Repeat with remaining bagels.
3. Arrange the slices in a single layer on
a baking pan and place the pan on the
wire rack in the middle rack height
position.
4. Turn the FUNCTION dial until the
indicator on the LCD screen points to
the TOAST function. Set the darkness
level to 3 and the number of slices to 2.
Press the START/CANCEL button
to activate.
5. When toasting is completed, remove
the bagel chips from the oven and place
them on a cooling rack. The chips will
crisp up as they cool.
6. Toast any remaining bagel slices in the
same way.
7. Store the bagel chips in an airtight
container.
BAKED CRAB DIP
Yield: 2 cups
INGREDIENTS
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon hot sauce (or to taste)
1 ½ cups crab meat
2 green onions, thinly sliced
¼ cup basil leaves, chopped
METHOD
1. In a medium bowl, beat the cream
cheese until softened. Add the
mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, lemon
juice, Worcestershire sauce and hot
sauce and mix well to combine. Gently
fold in the crab, green onions and basil.
2. Transfer the dip to a 4-cup baking dish.
3. Position the wire rack in the bottom
rack height position and turn the
FUNCTION dial until the indicator
on the LCD screen points to the BAKE
function. Set the temperature to 375°F
(195°C) and the timer to 20 minutes.
Press the START/CANCEL button
to activate.
4. When preheating has completed, place
the baking dish on the wire rack and
bake until the dip bubbles and the top
turns golden.
5. Serve with bagel chips and an
assortment of cold vegetables.
