PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE AND REMEDY
OVEN WILL NOT WORK
Plug on range is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet.
The circuit breaker in your house has been tripped or a fuse has been blown.
Oven controls are not properly set.
Door left in locked position after cleaning.
OVEN LIGHT
Light bulb is loose.
DOES NOT WORK
Bulb is defective. Replace.
Switch which operates oven light is broken. Call for service.
FOOD DOES NOT
OVEN SET or OVEN TEMP knob not set
at
BROIL.
BROIL PROPERLY
Door not left ajar as recommended.
Improper shelf position being used. Check Broiling Guide.
Necessary preheating was not done.
Food is being cooked on hot pan.
Utensils are not suited for broiling.
Aluminum foil used on the broil pan rack has not been fitted properly or slit as
recommended.
FOOD DOES NOT ROAST
OVEN SET knob not set on BAKE.
OR BAKE PROPERLY
OVEN TEMP knob not set correctly.
Shelf position is incorrect. Check Roasting or Baking Guides.
Oven shelf is not level.
Wrong cookware is being used. When roasting, pan is too small.
A foil tent was not used when needed to slow down browning during roasting.

SURFACE Surface units are not plugged in solidly.
UNITS NOT
Trim rings and drip pans are not set securely in the range top.
FUNCI’IONING
Surface unit controls are not properly set.
PROPERLY
OVEN WILL NOT
Automatic timer dials not set or not set properly. The STOP dial must be set and

advanced beyond the time noted on oven clock.
The STOP dial was not advanced for a long enough time.
Both OVEN SET and OVEN
TE~MP
knobs must be set at CLEAN setting.
A thick pile of spillover when cleaned leaves a heavy layer of ash in spots
which could have insulated the area from further heat.
Latch not moved to the right.
OVEN DOOR
Turn OVEN SET knob to CLEAN. Glowing Locked Light after knob is turned
WON’T LATCH
indicates oven is too hot from previous use and door won’t latch. To cool oven,
open door wide; then latch can be moved.
OVEN SET knob must beat CLEAN or OFF before Latch can be moved.
Latch Release Button not pushed when moving Latch.
