What is
convection
cooking?
In a convection oven, a tan circulates the
heated air evenly, over and around the ti)od.
This circulating hot air is evenly distributed
throughout the oven ca\'ity_ As a result, toods
are evenly cooked and browned--otten in less
time with convection heat. Preheating is not
necessary with too(ls having a bake time of over
15 rain utes.
Food is heated taster in a convection oven.
_'hen using the convection feature, manv
types of food can be cooked at lower
temperatures than those suggested tot
regular ovens.
Recipe books otten give times and
temperatures for cooking in regular ovens.
Convection ovens make it possible to reduce
the temperature bv 50°F. when using
Convection Bake.
Check fl_ods tot doneness at the minimum
suggested cooking time.
Some package instHictions for fl'ozen
casseroles or main dishes have been
developed using colnlnercial convection
ovens. For best results in this oven, preheat
the oven tot 15 minutes and use the
temperature on the package.
Good tot multi-shelf baking when baking
cookies, brownies, and biscuits.
Many foods mav be cooked using the special
Convection Floor Rack in combination with
the other oven shelves. Foods such as
chocolate chip and sugar cookies, pizza, and
pies have shown good results when convection
baking using as many as 5 shelves/racks.
For best results when baking layer cakes, use
