The consoleofferssixteenpresetprograms--four
programsthat focuson weight loss,seven pro-
grams designedfor aerobicexercise, and five pro-
gramsfor high-performanceconditioning.
When the key is inserted, the manual mode willbe
selected. To select one ofthe preset programs,
first press the Select Goal button repeatedly until
the words "WEIGHT LOSS," "AEROBIC," or
"PERFORMANCE" appear in the main display.

Next, press the Select Course buttonrepeatedly

mance programs.For example, ifthe words
"WEIGHT LOSS" appear inthe main display,you
canselect the 20-minute Pyramid, 35-minute
Pyramid, 20-minute Fat Burn,or 20-minute
Interval program.

Three seconds after a preset program isselected,
the name ofthe selected program, the maximum
speed settingfor the program,the maximum in-
clinesettingfor the program,and thetotal program
time willbeginto scrollacrossthe main display.
The program dis-
play will show the
speed settingsof
the program you
have selected.
Note: If you have
selected a programwith more than seventeen
segments,the displaywillshow onlythe first sev-
enteen speed settings.
_ Press the Start button or the Speed + button to
start the program.
A momentafter the button ispressed, the tread-
mill will automaticallyadjustto the firstspeed and
incline settings of the program. Hold the handrails
and begin walking.
Each program isdivided into several time seg-
ments of different lengths. (The main display
shows boththe timeremaininginthe programand
the time remaininginthe currant segmentof the
program.) One speed settingand one inclineset-
tingare programmedfor each segment.(The
same speed settingand/or inclinesettingmay be
programmedfor consecutivesegments.)The
speed settingfor
thefirstsegment is
shownintheflash- CurrantSegment
ingCurrent
Segment columnof
the programdis-
play.(The incline
settingsare not
shown inthe programdisplay.)The speed set-
tingsfor the nextseveral segments are shownin
the columnsto the right.
When onlythree seconds remainin the firstseg-
mentofthe program, both the Current Segment
columnand the columnto the rightwillflash and a
seriesof toneswillsound. In addition,ifthe speed
and/orinclineofthe treadmillisaboutto change,
the speed settingand/or inclinesettingwillflash in
the main displayto alert you. When the firstseg-
ment iscompleted,all speed settingswillmove
one column to theleft. The speed settingfor the
secondsegment willthen be shownin theflashing
CurrentSegment columnand the treadmillwillau-
tomaticallyadjustto thespeed and inclinesettings
for thesecondsegment.Note: If allofthe indica-
tors inthe CurrentSegment columnare litafterthe
speed settingshave moved tothe left,the speed
settings will movedownwardsothatonlythehigh-
est indicatorsappear inthe programdisplay.If
someofthe indicatorsinthe CurrentSegmentcol-
umn are not litwhenthe speed settingsmoveto
the leftagain, the speed settingswillmoveback
up.
The programwill continuein this way untilthe
speed setting for the lastsegment is shown inthe
CurrantSegment columnand no time remainsin
the program.The walkingbelt willthen slowtoa
stop.
