Focus.
Press the shutter button halfway to focus.
R The lens may make a noise when the camera focuses; this is
normal. If the subject is poorly lit, the AF-assist illuminator
may light; see “C AF ILLUMINATOR”(P 101) for information
on disabling the illuminator.
If the camera is able to focus, it will beep twice.
If the camera is unable to focus, the focus frame will turn red, s will be
displayed. Change the composition or use focus lock (P 43).
