I believe it makes a beeping noise when coffee is finished. And no, you cannot turn it off.

You tell it what type of coffee you are using and your preferences on boldness etc, and how many cups, then it does the rest.

You have the option to choose how many cups of coffee to brew. However, the options are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 cups only. Hope this helps.

The coffee is plenty hot and I do not think would need to be microwaved.
