Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Move your dryer to the location you selected
• Move your dryer to the location you selected, but do not push your dryer all
the way back into the location. You need to connect the power cord before
you move your dryer into its final position.
Step 2: Connect the power cord (U.S. models only)
• Determine whether your electric outlet is a three-wire or four-wire outlet. See
Power outlet types
on page 19.
Three-wire outlet
1 Connect the power cord grounding wire to the external screw. If there is no
power cord grounding wire, remove the neutral wire from the center terminal
block screw on your dryer, then connect it to the external ground conductor
screw and connect the neutral wire to the center terminal block.
2 Remove the two side terminal block screws, then connect the other wires to
the outer terminal screws. Make sure that you cross the screw through the
terminal ring, then tighten the screw.
