F. TESTING THE MOWER OPERATION (FIG. 8)
Inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts
such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners
and caps and do not operate this product until any missing or
damaged parts are replaced.
TO TEST THE SAFETY INTERLOCK SYSTEM
The mower incorporates a safety interlock system that will stop the
drive motors and deck motors when the operator is unseated for
any reason while the mower is operating. This is a safety feature
designed to prevent runaway or accidental entanglement. Test the
system to be sure it is working correctly
1. Position the mower on a level surface.
2. Remove the battery packs from the box.
3. Insert battery packs (Fig. 8a):
a. Grasp the handle and press it in slightly. This will unlock the
cover. The cover will slowly lift on its own.
b. Insert both battery packs as shown until they audibly lock
in place.
c. Close the cover.
4. Pick up one of the safety keys and sit down on the mower seat
(Fig. 8b).
5. Insert the safety key into the mower and press the start/stop
button for 3 seconds. The LCD screen will illuminate indicating
that the mower is ready for operation (Fig. 8c).
6. Pull the PTO switch up to turn on the blade motors (Fig. 8c).
7. Slowly raise yourself off the seat, but do not get off the mower.
The blade motors should stop.
NOTICE: If the deck-blade system fails to stop when the operator is
off of the seat:
a. Push the PTO switch down to turn off the blade motors.
b. Disconnect the safety key and battery packs.
c. Verify that the cable and the plug are properly connected.
Refer to step 1 in chapter “INSTALLING THE SEAT” earlier.
If the cause cannot be determined after confirming the plug and
socket connection of the seat is properly connected, contact your
EGO customer service center immediately.
WARNING: DO NOT operate the mower until the safety interlock
system has been repaired by a qualified service technician.
