Setting options for MPEG-H codecs
Adjusting the codec settings
▷ Tap the Codec button in the Settings menu of the Smart Control
app.
The active codec is displayed.
▷ Tap the name of the codec.
A submenu for the active codec opens.
▷ Adjust the desired settings for the active codec.
Parameters Meaning
Dialog Nor-
malization
If you activate “Dialog Normalization” via the soft-
ware switch, the volume of background noise/back-
ground music is reduced to make dialog tracks more
audible.
Dynamic
Range
Control
Adjust the dynamics of the audio signal to compen-
sate for differences between quiet and loud pas-
sages or to boost the volume of loud passages.
To do so, move the slider between “Compression”,
“OFF” and “Boosting”.
• Compression: Loud passages become quieter,
quiet passages become louder.
• OFF: The audio signal is not compressed.
• Boosting: The volume of loud passages is
boosted.
