Using the self-cleaning oven.
If gour model has a door latch, never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism.
The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctlg for the cgc/e to work properlg.
Wipe up heavy soil on the oven
bottom.
Before o Cleon Cycle
Forthe first self-clean cgcle, we recommend
venting gour kitchen with an open window or
using a ventilation fan or hood.
Removethe shelves,ang broiler pan, broiler
grid, allcookware and ang aluminum foil
from the oven.
The oven shelvescan be self-cleaned,but
they will darken, lose their luster and become
hard to slide.
Do notuse commercial oven cleanersor oven
protectorsinornear the self-cleaningoven.A
combinationofang ofthese productsplus
thehigh cleoncgcletemperaturesmug
damage theporcelainfinishoftheoven.
Soilon thefrontframe ofthe range and
outsidethe gasketon thedoor willneed to be
cleanedbg hand.Cleon theseareas withhot
water,soap-filledscouringpods or cleansers
such as SoftScrub_ Rinsewellwithcleon
water and dry.
Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglass
material of the oven door gasket cannot
withstand abrasion. It is essential for the
gasket to remain intact. If you notice it
becoming worn or frayed, replace it.
Wipe up any heavg spilloverson the oven
bottom.
Make sure the oven light bulb cover is in place
and the oven light is off.
CAUTION: The grates and drip
pans (if so equipped) should never be
cleaned in the self-cleaning oven.
Do not use commercial oven cleaners or
oven protectors in or near the self-cleaning
oven. A combination of ang of these products
plus the high clean cgcle temperatures mag
damage the porcelain finish of the oven.
IMPORTANT:The health of some birds is
extremelg sensitiveto the fumes given off
during the self-cleaning cgcle of ang range.
Move birds to another well-ventilated room.

How to Set the Oven for Cleaning
Followthe directions in the Beforea Cleon
Cyclesection.
[] If your model has a latch, latch the dooE
NOTE:Never force the latch. If the oven is too
hot, you will not be able to slidethe latch.
Allow the oven to cool.
[] Touch the Self Clean pad.
[] Touch the + or- pads until the desired
CleanTime is displaged.
TheCleonTime is normally 4 hours and 20
minutes. Youcon change the Cleon Time to
any time between 3 and 5 hours, depending
on the amount of soil in your oven.
[] Touch the Start/On pad.
The oven control will signal if gou set the
clean cgcle and forget to close the oven door
or forget to latch the door on models with a
latch.
The self-clean cgcle will automaticallg begin
after Clean is displaged and the time
countdown appears in the displag.
On models without a door latch, the door
locks automaticallg. It will not be possibleto
open the oven door until the temperature
drops below the lock temperature and the
Self Cleon light goes off.
While the oven is self-cleaning, gou can touch
the Clock pad to displag the time of dag. To
return to the clean countdown, touch the
Self Clean pod.
The oven shuts off automaticallg when the
clean cgcle is complete, and 0:00 will flash in
the displag.
[] When the Self Cleon light is off, slide the
latch handle to the left as far as it will go
and open the dooE If gour range does
not have a latch, the door will unlock
automaticallg.
