MOWING "lIPS
• Tire chains cannot be used when Ihe
mower housing isattached lo tractor.
• Mower should be properlyleveled for
best mowing performance. See "TO
LEVEL MOWER HOUSING" inthe
Service and Adjustmentssectionof
this manual.
• The left hand side of mower shouldbe
used for trimming.
• Drive so that clippingsare discharged
onto the area that has been cut. Have
the cut area to t_e rightof the tractor.
This will resultin a moreeven distribu-
tion of clippings and more uniform
cutting.
• When mowing large areas, slart by
turningto the rightso thatclippingswill
discharge away from shrubs, fences,
driveways,etc. After one or two
rounds, mow in the opposite d)raction
making left hand turns untilfinished.
• if grass is extremely tall, it shouldbe
mowed twice to reduce load and
possiblefire bazar_ from 0(=ed
clippings. Make first cut relatively
hi_h; the second to the desired height,
• Do notmow grass when itiswet. Wet
grass will plug mower and leave
undesirableclumps. Allow grass to
drybefore mowing.
• Always operate engine at full throtUe
when mowing toassure bettermowing
performanceand properdischargeof
material. Regulate ground speed by
selecting a low enough gear to give
the mower cuttingperformanceas well
as the quality of cut desired.
• When operating attachments, select a
ground speed that will suit the terrain
and g)ve best pedormance of the
attachment being used.
