HOW TO USE YOUR TRACTOR
TO SET PARKING BRAKE
Yourtractor is equippedwith an operator
presence sensing switch. When engine
is running,any attemptby the operatorto
Iseve the seat withoutfirst settingthe
parking brakewill shut off the engine.
1. Depress clutch/breke pedal intofull
=BRAKE" positionand hold.
2. Place parkingbrake lever in "EN-
GAGED" positionand release
pressure from clutch/brake pedal,
Pedal should remain in "BRAKE"
position. Make sure parking brake
will holdtractor secure.

STOPPING
MOWER BLADES -
To stop mower blades,move attach-
ment clutch lever to"DISENGAGED"
position.
GROUND DRIVE -
To stopground drive, depress clutch/
brake pedal into full "BRAKE" position.
Move gearshift lever to neutral (N)
position.
ENGINE -
Move throttle controlto slow position.
NOTE: Failure to move throttlecontrolto
slow position and allowing engine to idle
before stoppingmay cause engine to
"backfire".
Turn ignition key to "OFF" positionand
remove key. Always remove key when
leaving tractor to prevent unauthorized
use.
Never use choke to stop engine.
IMPORTANT: Leaving the ignition
switch inany positionother than "OFF"
will cause the batteryto be discharged,
(dead).
NOTE; Under certain conditionswhen
tractor is standingidle with the engine
running, hot engine exhaust gases may
cause "browning" of grass. To eliminate
this possibility, always stop engine when
stopping tractor on grass areas.
k CAUTION; Always stop tractor
completely, as described above, before
leaving the operator's position; to empty
grass catcher, etc.

Always operate engine at full throttle.
Operating engine at less than full
throttlereducesthe batterycharging
rate,
Pullthrottleoffersthe best bagging
and mower performance.
TO MOVE FORWARD AND
BAYARD
The directionand speed of movement is
controlledby the gearshift lever.
1. Start tractorwith cMch/brake pedal
depressed and gearshiftlever in
neL,Itral(N) position.
2. Mov_ gearshiftlever to desired
position.
3. Slowly release clutclVbrekepedal to
start movement.
IMPORTANT: Bring tractorto a complete
stop before shiftingor changinggears.
Failure to do so willshorten the useful
lifeof your transaxle.
