TO ADJUST MOWER CUTTING
HEIGHT
The positionof the attachmentliftlever
determinesthe cuttingheight.
Grasp liftfever.
Press plunger with thumband move
lever to desired pos(tion.
The cutting height range is approxi-
mately 1-1/2 to 4". The heights are
measured from the ground to the blade
tipwith the engine not running. These"
heightsare approximate and may vary
depending upon soil conditions, height
of grass and types of grass being
mowed.
The average lawn should be cut to
approximately 2-1/2 inches during the
coolseason and to over 3 inches
duringhot months. For healthier and
better lookinglawns, mow oftenand
after moderate growth.
For best cutting performance, grass
over 6 inches in height should be
mowed twice. Make the first cut
relatively high; the second to desired
height.
TO OPERATE MOWER
Yourtractor isequipped withan operator
presence sensingswitch. Any attemptby
the operatorto leave the seat with the
engine running and the attachment
clutchengaged will shut off the engine.
1. Select desired height ofcut.
2. Start mower blades by engaging
attachment clutch control.
TO STOP MOWER BLADES -
disengage attachment clutch control,
_CAUTION: Do not operatethe
mower withouteither the entire grass
catcher,on mowers so equipped,or the
discharge guard in place.

TO OPERATE ON HILLS
CAIJTION: Do not drive upor down
hills with slopesgreater than 15° and do
not drive acrossany slope.
Choose the slowest speed before
startingup or down hills.
Avoid stoppingor changing speed on
hills.
if slowingis necessary, move throttle
controlfever to slower position.
If stoppingis absolutelynecessary,
push clutch/brake pedal quicklyto
brake position and engage parking
brake.
Move gearshift lever to 1st gear. Be
sure you have allowed room for tractor
to roll slightlyas you restartmovement.
TO restart movement, slowly release
parking brake and clutch/brakepedal.
Make all turns slowly.
TO TRANSPORT
Raise attachmentliftto highest
position with attachment liftcontrol,
When pushing or towing your tractor,
be sure gearshift lever is in neutral (N)
position.
" Do not push or tow tractor at more than
five (5) MPH+
NOTE: To protect hood from damage
when transporting your tractor on a lruck
or a trailer, be sure hoed is closed and
secured to tractor. Use an appropriate
means of tying hood to tractor (rope,
cord; etc.).

Too heavy of a load,while on a slope, is
