5.2 MINIMUM CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLE ENCLOSURES

Risk of fire!
The front of the fireplace must be finished with any non-combustible materials such as brick, marble,
granite, etc., as long as the finishing material does not go below the specified dimension as
illustrated. As an alternative, you can finish the fireplace with drywall, see diagram below for details.
Facing and / or finishing material must never overhang into the fireplace opening.
The fireplace requires a minimum enclosure height measured from the fireplace base.
IMPORTANT: The GD82 requires a minimum inside enclosure height of 72”, measured from the bottom
of the fi replace. For temperature requirements, this area must be left unobstructed.
