technician who will design and install the ventila-
tion system in strict compliance with the guide-
lines set out in current standards.
The openings should be positioned so as not to gen-
erate any unpleasant odours for the occupants
of the
room. Furthermore, it is not permitted
to use the flues
already provided for other appliances to expel the
products of combustion.
Use of a gas cooker generates
heat and humidity in
the room where it is installed.
This is why attention
must be paid to
good kitchen ventilation: the existing ven-
tilation openings
must not be blocked. Prolonged use
of the appliance with several or all burners may call
for additional ventilation such as opening a window
or a door, or stronger air extraction by an extractor
hood.
Gas connection
The appliance shall be installed in accordance with
the regulations in force and only in well-ventilated
space.
We recommend a check that the appliance is prop-
erly installed and adjusted for the type and pressure
of gas distributed. The connection to the gas pipes
must be made in a workmanlike manner, in compli-
ance with current standards that prescribe the installa-
tion of a safety valve at the end of the pipe. This spe-
cial valve for routinely turning the gas supply on and
off must be installed between the gas inlet tube to
the room and the hob
in order to cut off the gas sup-
ply immediately in the event of accidents
or emergency
during or after cooking. This valve must be easily
accessible at all times and should be closed during
longer periods of no use.
