• Always ensure the safety locking pin is
properly aligned within the opening of the lid
arm and is not restricted in any way.

NOTE
If the contents of the cooker are hot when
closing the lid, it may be necessary to press
down slightly on the lid knob while the lid is
still in the unlocked position, allowing the lid
to turn easily.
AUTOMATIC HANDS-FREE
STEAM RELEASE
The cooker features automatic hands-free
steam release that will occasionally release
steam as the cooker pressurizes as well as
automatically start the steam release cycle
after cooking.
• Never place your hands, arms or face over the
pressure release valve.
NOTE
In addition to the automatic hands-free steam
release, pressure can be released by pressing
the RELEASE button or by manually turning
the pressure release valve.
NEVER FORCE THE LID OPEN
OPENING THE LID
• Turn the lid knob counter-clockwise towards
the open lock graphic. The cooker alert will
sound when the lid unlocks.
• The lid should open with ease if all internal
pressure has been released. Never force the
lid open.
• If the lid will not unlock, or if you encounter
resistance, it may indicate the cooker is still
pressurized. Press and hold the RELEASE
button until all internal pressure is released
and the lid opens easily.
