10. ProcedureforMeasurementofMicrowaveEnergyLeakage
1)Pour275±15ccof20±5°C(68±9°F)waterinabeaker
whichisgraduatedto600cc,andplacethebeakerin
thecenteroftheoven.
2)Starttooperatetheovenandmeasuretheleakageby
usingamicrowaveenergysurveymeter.
3)Setsurveymeterwithdualrangesto2,450MHz.
4)Whenmeasuringtheleakage,alwaysusethe2inch
spacerconewiththeprobe.Holdtheprobe
perpendiculartothecabinetdoor.Placethespacer
coneoftheprobeonthedoorand/orcabinetdoor
seamandmovealongtheseam,thedoorviewing
windowandtheexhaustopeningsmovingthe
probeinaclockwisedirectionatarateof1inch/sec.Iftheleakagetestingofthecabinetdoorseamis
takennearacornerofthedoor,keeptheprobeperpendiculartotheareasmakingsurethattheprobeend
atthebaseoftheconedoesnotgetcloserthan5cmtoanymetal.Ifitgetscloserthan5cm,erroneous
readingsmayresult.
