SELECTING THE
RECORDING MODE
You can select the Standard Quality mode SQ or the High
Quality modes HQ/SHQ.
1 In the Record mode, turn on the LCD monitor and press
the Menu button. Press the bottom arrow on the Jog dial
to select .
● Use the control panel and the Jog dial when the LCD
monitor is off.
2 Press the right arrow on the Jog dial to select SQ, HQ or
SHQ.
● The selected recording mode appears on the control panel.

HQ 1600 x 1200 Standard
SHQ 1600 x 1200 Minimal (larger file size)
◆ The number of storable pictures varies according to
the recording mode. TIFF requires more room in the
card than other modes. (p. 76)
◆ You can select VGA (640 x 480 pixels) or XGA (1024 x
768 pixels) for the SQ mode. (p. 174)
◆ You can select JPEG (compression) or TIFF (non-
compression) for the SHQ mode. (p. 174)
