S.P.E Battery Charger Details
When the S.P.E baery charger is plugged in, “Non-ST” models will display text on the LCD screen describing the type of
baery charging prole in use. They will aslso communicate charging progress with an ICON on the LCD display. When
the S.P.E. baery charger is plugged in on ST models, charging progress is communicated using the Baery Indicator
LEDs. The charging prole in use is communicated using one of the other control panel LEDs.
ST Charging Prole in Use:
Wet 25A = Vacuum LED
AGM Discover 25A = Scrub High LED
Gel Excide 25A = Scrub Low LED
Gel-AGM 25A = Soluon High LED
Wet 15A = Soluon Medium LED
Gel-AGM 15A = Soluon Low LED
The S.P.E. baery charger and Main Machine Controller communicate with one another on the WHT/BLU wire that runs
between them. (This same circuit is also used for the brush head actuator posion 2 switch input) Each me the baery
charger is plugged in, the charger contacts the controller by sending out a posive voltage on the communicaon wire
to nd out what kind of baeries are on the machine. It needs to know this in order to use the correct charging prole.
The controller responds and provides the baery type informaon it has stored in memory. The charger then tells the
controller which charging prole it will use and begins charging the baeries. See the Control System, Program Opons
secon for informaon on how to tell the controller what kind of baeries are used in the machine. If the charger is un-
able to communicate with the controller it will use the prole for a wet baery at a 25 Amp rate as a default.
Delta-Q IC650 Battery Charger Details
The Delta-Q baery charger does not communicate with the main machine controller. It is a “stand-alone” unit. Models
that have the Delta-Q charger have a separate LED on a bracket to communicate charging progress. By pressing a buon
on the charger you can see what charging prole is in use. If you replace the baeries with a dierent type of baery or
replace the baery charger, you must select the correct charging prole to be compable with the baeries. There are a
set of proles stored inside the charger. You can interface directly with the charger to select the prole to be used from
that set. See the Delta-Q Product Manual (710-0138-Delta-Q.pdf) for complete instrucons on selecng the prole. Use
the Baery Charging Prole Table below to choose the prole to match the baeries that are in the machine.
