S.P.E Battery Charger Details
When the S.P.E baery charger is plugged in, “Non-ST” models will display text on the LCD screen describing the type of
baery charging prole in use. They will aslso communicate charging progress with an ICON on the LCD display. When
the S.P.E. baery charger is plugged in on ST models, charging progress is communicated using the Baery Indicator
LEDs. The charging prole in use is communicated using one of the other control panel LEDs.
ST Charging Prole in Use:
Wet 25A = Vacuum LED
AGM Discover 25A = Scrub High LED
Gel Excide 25A = Scrub Low LED
Gel-AGM 25A = Soluon High LED
Wet 15A = Soluon Medium LED
Gel-AGM 15A = Soluon Low LED
The S.P.E. baery charger and Main Machine Controller communicate with one another on the WHT/BLU wire that runs
between them. (This same circuit is also used for the brush head actuator posion 2 switch input) Each me the baery
charger is plugged in, the charger contacts the controller by sending out a posive voltage on the communicaon wire
to nd out what kind of baeries are on the machine. It needs to know this in order to use the correct charging prole.
The controller responds and provides the baery type informaon it has stored in memory. The charger then tells the
controller which charging prole it will use and begins charging the baeries. See the Control System, Program Opons
secon for informaon on how to tell the controller what kind of baeries are used in the machine. If the charger is un-
able to communicate with the controller it will use the prole for a wet baery at a 25 Amp rate as a default.
Delta-Q IC650 Battery Charger Details
The Delta-Q baery charger does not communicate with the main machine controller. It is a “stand-alone” unit. Models
that have the Delta-Q charger have a separate LED on a bracket to communicate charging progress. By pressing a buon
on the charger you can see what charging prole is in use. If you replace the baeries with a dierent type of baery or
replace the baery charger, you must select the correct charging prole to be compable with the baeries. There are a
set of proles stored inside the charger. You can interface directly with the charger to select the prole to be used from
that set. See the Delta-Q Product Manual (710-0138-Delta-Q.pdf) for complete instrucons on selecng the prole. Use
the Baery Charging Prole Table below to choose the prole to match the baeries that are in the machine.
